Most attentive staff! A special thanks to Lydia & Nathalie! It was a very busy weekend during Brewfest but, every detail from cleanliness to hospitality was taken care of. The room was very quiet & cozy. An actual WORKING tiny fridge/freezer & microwave in our smaller room. The balcony overlooking the crystal clear river equipped with table & chairs, opens up your space nicely! Screens to keep bugs out so you can enjoy the cool evening air & hear the river all night long with no bugs coming in to BUG YOU! Totally worth every penny you pay! You get what you pay for here! DOWNIEVILLE is a wonderful scenic destination & is very popular for hard core mountain bikers as well!
We had an excellent stay in room 1 with a family of four. Great space. Comfortable beds. Windows facing the river. Small beach at the fork of the Yuba River. Walkable to Main Street Downieville.
Had another wonderful stay at the Riverside Mountain Lodge, in beautiful Downieville. Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown, and the accommodations are excellent with a comfortable, rustic vibe. This time we had a room with a deck overlooking the Downie River, which was a great upgrade. Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
First things first: Wow. Luxury meets cabin cozy in this well-decked-out travel apartment. Kitchenette, spacious bathrooms, warm fireplace, deeply comfortable bed, and a gorgeous view of the river from a balcony, where you can enjoy a cozy drink. I didn't feel like I was traveling. It was an experience of deep care, like every consideration for my comfort was applied. The staff is lovely and friendly. Be sure to stop by the lounge to say hi to them!
I have just stayed for a weekend in between a 2 week business trip and I must say it has been great. I am not sure if it is the bed or the river sounds or the scenery but it has been a great and relaxing stay. Nathalie has been super nice and managed to help me rent a mountain bike and was always there for any advice and help.

She makes you feel instantly at home. Lydia, the general manager, keeps everything running smoothly with professionalism and heart, ensuring every guest has a great stay. Together, they’ve built more than a lodge..they’ve created a place that feels like home. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Downieville!
What an amazing hotel. The little touches of local items were great- to include a free postcard and popcorn. Natalie was so helpful and kind- probably one of the best hosts I’ve ever encountered. When we come back to Downieville we will definitely be coming back here!
Wonderful staff clean nice rooms right on river and walking distance to everything. Only complaint is the room was very hot and no ac only fans that blew around the hot air so we were sweating tell about 10pm then it finally cooled down I have been told they are working on getting ac in the rooms so that will make things perfect very sweet people highly recommend staying here
